Blood Drive Scheduled for Fullerton Airplane Crash Survivor

Fullerton, Calif., October 13, 2004 – Friends and family of Tony Albanese will sponsor a blood drive Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2-7 p.m. at the Fullerton Airport, 4119 West Commonwealth Ave.  The UCI Blood Mobile will conduct the drive in the airport parking lot, east of AFI.

A passenger in a replica of a 1920s Ford Tri-motor, Albanese suffered major injuries when the plane crashed at the Fullerton Airport on Sept. 25.  Albanese remains in serious condition at UCI Medical Center.

According to the UCI Blood Donor Center, blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.  Donors also should bring a photo I.D. and list of any current medications.  Type O blood is especially needed.
