Antoci Center for Pediatric Urology and NephrologyDedicated to providing the highest level of care, while minimizing stress and anxiety for children and families. The unique field of pediatric urology is a subspecialty that focuses on the treatment of diseases of the genitourinary system in children. Our staff specializes in the care of young patients, and has extensive experience and training in addressing their needs, from birth to adolescence. We are equipped to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of pediatric kidney, bladder and genital system disorders. In addition, our staff is available for consultation to help meet your child's healthcare needs. A $1.1 million gift by the Antoci family has enabled UC Irvine Medical Center to equip a 5,000-square-foot complex dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of children with urologic and kidney disorders. A video-urodynamic suite contains state-of-the-art digital fluoroscopic and physiologic equipment for the diagnosis of anatomic and functional disorders of the bladder, such as incontinence and enuresis (bedwetting). This allows our specialized studies to be performed with minimal radiation exposure. In addition, we are uniquely equipped to perform sophisticated biofeedback therapy for children with dysfunctional voiding problems, which can lead to irreversible kidney and bladder damage if left untreated. The facility also includes a color duplex ultrasound suite, allowing diagnostic studies and physician consultations to be performed at one location, often during one visit. Our Antoci Center for Pediatric Urology and Nephrology is the only facility of its kind in Orange County. |
