The Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic is the world’s first dedicated center for research and treatment using lasers and light. Our physicians have learned how to harness the precision and power of different lasers to perform delicate procedures involving facial plastic surgery, vascular birthmarks and malformations, breast cancer and treatment for a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, birthmarks and skin cancers. Since 1986, our specialists have performed more than 25,000 laser procedures.

Laser treatment is a highly selective process that is typically less traumatic than general surgery. As a result, patients often heal more quickly because normal, surrounding tissue is not severely affected. Most procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis at the Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic on the UC Irvine campus.
