Individualized Care
As a university-based medical center staffed by expert surgeons equipped
with advanced technologies, we treat a high percentage of patients with complex
cardiovascular conditions, extensive coronary artery disease, serious valve
disorders and heart failure. Because of our highly specialized focus, we are
able to give each of our patients individualized care. In fact, UC Irvine
Medical Center surpasses the national standards in the care of high-risk
cardiac surgery patients.

As a university-based medical center–and the only such center in
Orange County–we utilize technologically innovative systems and equipment
for imaging and surgery, including:
- 64-slice scanner for noninvasive detection of atherosclerosis
- Two cardiac catheterization laboratories
- 3-D interactive imaging for planning aneurysm repair procedures
- State-of-the-art operating room with the robotic da Vinci™ Surgical System
