Specialists
Our liver specialists, known as hepatologists, are experienced in
treating all forms of liver disease, including:
- Viral hepatitis (hepatitis A, B, C, D and E)
- Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)
- Autoimmune chronic active hepatitis (ACAH)
- Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC)
- Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC)
- Wilson’s disease
- Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency
- Autoimmune chronic active hepatitis
Cancer Treatment
In cases of liver cancer, our team determines the best treatment options.
Factors include the stage of the disease as well as the age and overall health
of the patient. Treatment may involve removing the part of the liver that
contains the tumor (liver resection), or other approaches such as:
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Cryosurgery
- Chemoembolization
- Percutaneous ethanol injection
- Radiation therapy
Clinical Trials
CDDC physicians are actively involved in clinical trials of new
hepatology and liver cancer protocols. Patients enrolling in
these studies gain access to new investigational treatments for liver
disease.
