team and expertiseMain | Overview | Team & Expertise | Our Physicians | Conditions & Services UC Irvine Healthcare’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is a leader in the research and implementation of epilepsy care in the United States. The program combines specialists from various disciplines to unite their expertise and provide comprehensive care in the diagnosis and treatment of this complex disease. Once a diagnosis is complete, our specialists analyze the results along with the patient’s clinical history. An assessment is made regarding the best treatment options. This process draws on the skills of UC Irvine’s board-certified neurologists with subspecialty training and expertise in managing people with epilepsy, as well as a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, neuroradiologists, a neuropsychologist, electroencephalography (EEG) technologists, nursing specialists, physician’s assistants and a nurse practitioner. Regularly scheduled multidisciplinary conferences ensure that each patient’s case is given comprehensive, expert medical and surgical review.
