World-class team
The UC Irvine gynecology team includes some of the most prominent physicians in the nation who treat gynecologic cancers and diseases of the reproductive tract. Among them are founding members of the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG). This national cooperative is dedicated to the advancement of clinical research and training for the treatment of female reproductive-tract cancers. As leaders in the field, we offer one of the few four-year fellowship-training programs in gynecologic oncology in the country.
Multidisciplinary care
UC Irvine Medical Center gynecologists work hand-in-hand with specialists from the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center when needed. They also collaborate with a team of internationally respected UC Irvine Medical Center urologists and urogynecologists. Women suffering bladder control problems or other urinary complications can feel comfortable knowing that our physicians offer a number of leading-edge options for treatment, including the newest minimally invasive procedures.

Expert diagnosis and treatment
UC Irvine Medical Center is equipped with a full range of testing modalities to identify the cause of reproductive tract disorders. These include specialized laboratory analyses, CT/MRI scans, urodynamics, cystourethoscopy and electrodiagnostic studies. Our physicians are at the forefront of new surgical methods including minimally invasive endoscopic procedures and other alternatives to hysterectomies.
Women with cancers affecting the ovaries, fallopian tubes, endometrium, unterus, cervix, vagina or vulva can rely on the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center for advanced care from highly specialized physicians. Gynecologic oncologists evaluate and treat women with malignancies of the female reproductive tract utilizing the latest advances in complex pelvic surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. As the only university-based hospital in Orange County, UC Irvine Medical Center offers gynecologic cancer patients access to clinical trials not available elsewhere.
