UC IRVINE MEDICAL CENTERThe University of California, Irvine Medical Center is a world-class academic medical center and the only university hospital in Orange County. Opened in 1976, the 449-bed medical facility offers a full scope of acute- and general-care services, including a regional burn center, Level I Trauma Center, neuropsychiatric center, Level III neonatal care unit and a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The medical center has more than 400 specialty and primary care physicians. UC Irvine Medical Center has received numerous distinctions including:
New University Hospital In February 2005, construction began on the $371M state-of-the-art hospital. When completed in early 2009, the new hospital will house the latest medical technologies and strengthen UC Irvine Healthcare’s ability to provide patients with the latest therapies and treatments. School of Medicine Committed to cultivating premier physicians and surgeons, UC Irvine Medical Center is the principal clinical facility for teaching and research programs of the UC Irvine School of Medicine. The School of Medicine is dedicated to continuing UC Irvine’s rich academic legacy by advancing the knowledge and practice of medicine through scholarly research, physician education and the provision of high-quality medical care to patients. |
