ADOLESCENT PROGRAMUC Irvine Neuropsychiatric Center has a 12-bed inpatient Youth Services Unit to treat severe attentional, anxiety, mood, eating and psychotic disorders in older children and adolescents. In addition, the unit has expertise in emotional and behavioral issues that are a result of severe mental illnesses such as epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, colitis and eating disorders. Family participation is also stressed to assist in assessment and treatment plan development. Select an adolescent psychiatrist » In addition to our inpatient services, UC Irvine Medical Center’s Psychiatric Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program provides expertise and compassion to assist 12- to 18-year-old adolescents struggling with potentially life-threatening eating disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar and psychotic disorders. Adolescents learning to cope with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD, ADD) or dual diagnosis are also candidates for this program. Partial Hospitalization Program hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., including one to two hours of grade appropriate school instruction. Patients live with their families after hours. This schedule enables patients to receive the focused attention they require during the day and the familiarity of their home setting in the evening.
