Seniors can schedule an appointment with a UC Irvine SeniorHealth Center geriatrician for primary care or for a consultation regarding specific concerns, such as dementia.
Primary care
Physicians at the SeniorHealth Center provide a full range of services for older adults including preventive health care and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
Specialized care
Patients at the SeniorHealth Center are able to see specialists for the following conditions:
- Dementia
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Breathing problems
- Joint disorders
- And many other conditions
Health Assessment Program for Seniors (HAPS)
The center’s team can provide an assessment – called the Health Assessment Program for Seniors (HAPS) – for patients with complex concerns. It involves a thorough evaluation by a geriatrician, neuropsychologist, pharmacist, nutritionist, social worker and occupational therapist.

Arthritis Treatment Services
Treating arthritis often requires care and attention from a multidisciplinary team of healthcare experts including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and pharmacists.
UC Irvine offers comprehensive care in the diagnosis, treatment and management of all types of arthritis and joint disorders at the SeniorHealth Center. Working together, the multidisciplinary team provides patient-centered care to define, address, assess and treat the causes, symptoms and progression of arthritis and joint disorders.
Affiliated Skilled Nursing Facilifites and Assisted Living Facilities
The SeniorHealth Center is affliated with several skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities in Orange County. Various members of our clinical staff, including geriatricians, nurse practioner and physician assistant, may provide clinical care services at these locations. Services include physicals, health assessments upon admission as well as the required care for long-term-care and short term (acute) rehabilitation. In addition, the clinical team works with patients families to help them understand the needs of their loved ones.
