Valerie George
Physician Assistant

Valerie George is the physician assistant for the SeniorHealth Center. She is responsible for evaluating patients and diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications and recommending medical equipment for SeniorHealth Center patients.

Physician assistants are formally trained to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive clinical care services, under the supervision by a physician.

Valerie sees new and returning patients as well as walk-in appointments. She has a physical therapy background and a clinical interest in working with patients with orthopedic conditions.

Valerie also participates in the Health Assessment Program for Seniors (HAPS) – a comprehensive assessment program for older patients that includes a physical exam, psychological and social profile and an evaluation of a patient’s living situation. After the assessment completed, Valerie and a neuropsychologist meet with the patient and their family to discuss their findings. During the meeting, Valerie provides a comprehensive medical evaluation of the patient’s current diagnosis and makes recommendations concerning medications, occupational therapy and diet.

Valerie enjoys working with older patients and their families. She attributes her interest in working with them to the special relationship she had with her grandparents, especially both her grandmothers.
