The system is designed specifically for both breasts at one time, and can determine
the extent of disease after a traditional mammography. Based on the MRI results,
a patient’s radiologist, oncologist and surgeon can determine exactly how much breast
tissue needs to be removed during surgery.”
“Because of its high sensitivity, breast MRI is a great screening option for women
at increased risk of breast cancer because it can detect tumors at the earliest stages. Breast
MRI can also be useful for examining patients with breast implants, to evaluate
potential leakages.”
