UC Irvine expert is available to discuss the public health impacts of the H1N1 swine flu outbreak

Dr. Kristi L. Koenig, professor of clinical emergency medicine and director of Public Health Preparedness at University of California, Irvine Medical Center, has expertise in disaster medicine, public health preparedness, emergency management and emergency medical services.  She served for more than five years as principal advisor on emergency management and disaster medicine to the Office of the Under Secretary for Health in the Department of Veterans Affairs where she also served as National Director of the Emergency Management Strategic Healthcare Group. With experience in public health response to flu outbreaks, Koenig can address swine flu response activities.
