Q. Does breast pain always mean I have something wrong?

A. Breast pain, in most instances, is an indication of pregnancy, premenstrual syndrome, fibrocystic breast disease, mastitis or a hormonal imbalance. Pain may occur in one or both breasts, and/or under the arms. While breast pain is usually not associated with cancer, it is still best to consult your physician if you are experiencing any breast abnormalities, including breast pain.
