Q. How is minimally invasive surgery different from traditional surgery? A. Minimally invasive surgery involves the completion of general surgical procedures through a series of small (less than ½ inch) incisions in the abdominal wall, which surgeons have traditionally performed through a single large abdominal incision 12-24 inches long. A combination of rigid and flexible cameras, instruments and retractors make this approach possible. Other frequently asked questions »
