Hospital Information Desk
Outgoing individuals needed to assist at busy reception area.  Volunteers will greet patients and visitors; answer incoming telephone calls; escort patients and visitors around the hospital; and serve as a liaison between the operating room and families waiting for surgery patients.

Cancer Center Resource Center
The Resource Center consists of a lending library with volunteers to assist patients and families in locating information that will help them cope with a cancer diagnosis.  The center has computer access and volunteers with computer skills can assist those who would like to look up information on the internet.  A good listening ear is also needed for those who stop by.

Nursing Units
Volunteers in nursing units assist with answering telephones; performing clerical tasks, answering patient call lights, helping patients prepare for meals, delivering flowers/mail to patient’s room, providing recreational activities for patients, and running errands within the Medical Center.

Volunteer Office
Individuals in the Volunteer Office are dispatched to various departments in the medical center on an as-needed basis.  Duties include clerical tasks; delivering flowers, emails and balloons to patients; assisting at conferences/workshops; calling to remind patients of appointments; data entry; and running errands within the medical center.  Excellent opportunity for retirees or individuals looking to volunteer in multiple departments.

Gift Shop
We are looking for outgoing adults to volunteer in the Gift Shop at UC Irvine Healthcare.  This is a great opportunity to meet people and assist visitors and staff with gift selections. Volunteer opportunities are currently available on weekday mornings and afternoons. Duties include cashiering, stocking and displaying merchandise, and delivering gifts and emails to patients.
